Savage colors
Symphony of Revelry: An overview of this series of pieces created between 2000 and 2005.
“Lemon grenadine”, Acrylic, 2005, 50×40.
The ‘Savage Colors’ series is a jubilant celebration of life, a canvas riotous with vibrant, unrestrained colors that sing of festivity and communion. Here, Delmeire recalls the joyous gatherings and shared moments that have punctuated his journey. Each painting is an abstract melody, bright and almost musical in its composition, reminiscent of the raucous laughter and lively conversations that filled the artist’s social gatherings, reflecting the high life he once knew.
“The fall of the ram”, Acrylic, 2002, 120×90.
In these works, Delmeire seems to break free from the constraints of form, allowing color to take the lead in a frenetic dance across the canvas. The spontaneous burst of hues mirrors the artist’s own liberation from the confines of his past, the explosion of creativity that came from his bold choices and the vibrant life he has lived. The ‘Savage Colors’ series is a visual representation of the artist’s ethos: to live freely and to express that freedom through his art.
“Opening”, Acrylic, 2002, 60×50.
The festivity present in ‘Savage Colors’ is not just a reflection of physical gatherings but also of the internal celebration of life’s diversity. The series is an ode to the human spirit’s capacity for joy and the need to share that joy through expressive means. Delmeire invites his audience to join in this celebration, to embrace the wildness of color, and to find the music in the abstract landscapes he creates.
“The city of joy”, Acrylic & Oil, 2003, 60×50.
